Description

Just perfect poured over satay skewers, or as an addition to rice and noodle dishes, or even in a hot panini, sandwich, or as a dip sauce for french fries/chips.

The sauce can be heated easily in a microwave oven in its own container. Simply remove the lid and pierce several holes in the plastic seal. Cook on full power for approximately 2 minutes (800W) and then run a sharp knife around the edge to remove the seal. Alternatively, empty the contents into a saucepan and warm through on a medium heat, stirring occasionally.

Refrigerate after opening.

Preparation

Simple tasty recipe: Simply dice 500g fresh chicken fillets into small pieces. Marinade the chicken with Verstegen Satay Spices, or Verstegen Satay Spices (100% Natural. Pour over the satay sauce and sprinkle crispy kibbled onions ontop, serve with prawn crackers and rice. **** To make the tastiest satay skewers, simply dice 500g of fresh chicken fillets into small pieces and make up a marinade by mixing 25g of Ketjap Benteng (Indonesian sweet soy sauce) with 15g of Marinade Mix. Pour over the diced chicken, cover and leave to marinate overnight in the fridge for maximum flavour penetration. Once marinated, place 2 or 3 chicken pieces on to small bamboo skewers and grill, fry or barbecue, before pouring over the heated satay sauce. Finish with a sprinkle of fried kibbled onions and Atjar Tjampoer on the side. To add more of a kick to the sauce, simply stir in 1 or 2 teaspoons of Sambal Oelek. (Tip - Soak wooden skewers in water for 1 hour prior to using to stop them burning.)

Satay sauce the way satay sauce is suppose to taste! Lovely with chips, with a Chinese meal, with meat (especially chicken) and also with vegetarian meat style pieces. A few minutes in the microwave and you can enjoy the beautiful flavours of this sauce.

This sauce brings back memories as it’s the sauce my mum would use at home (in the Netherlands) when having a barbecue or a nice Chinese meal. Can absolute recommend this satay sauce!
